Partners & Clients
Since its creation in 2010, CAPIM has developed an extensive network of partners and clients in the government sector in Australia and beyond. The Centre has a proven track record of working with government agencies to address water pollution and associated catchment management issues
We have been developing unique research techniques to assist waterways agencies such as Victorian Water Authorities (WAs), Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs), Melbourne Water, EPA, DELWP and the Department of Health. We support these agencies by providing a holistic view of the priority issues impacting aquatic ecosystems. This is achieved by using multiple lines of evidence from ecology, ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry and the use of new technologies such as metabolomics and other biomarkers.
CAPIM’s scientific expertise was drawn upon to help develop recent government initiatives including: the Yarra River for the Ministerial Advisory Committee; the new State Environment Planning Policy ‘Waters of Victoria’; the Port Phillip Bay Environmental Management Plan; and environmental studies for Western Port and Port Phillip Bay (DELWP). Our leadership in the field of aquatic pollution was endorsed in the Victorian Government’s Port Phillip Bay & Yarra River Plan of Action as a key agency for addressing pollution hotspots.
